The
Chinatown
Bus fact started in the late 1990s when an industrialist in New York’s
china town began running daily bus service from Chinatown in New York to
Chinatown in Boston. The service was aimed at Asian immigrants who required visiting
relatives in both cities or needed inexpensive and suitable transportation. The
service was bare bones- no customer service, no advertising, or no bus
stations. Here customer simply went to the bus stop then waited for the van or
bus then after getting into bus they paid to the bus driver depending upon
boarding. It is suitable for those who were willing to do without
accompaniments; they offer almost the same service as traditional bus companies
provided. At that time all kinds of people started using the service. It became
more popular for the budget travellers, student and the people for whom the
service was simply more convenient.
The
general heard of the Chinatown Bus via word of mouth
and it jammed rapidly and soon the market was infested with other companies
presenting similar service on a variety of routes. This was not a service which
marketed to the general public. Later all the customer started feeling problem
on every level like there was no bus station and the bus station did not offer
a comfortable waiting area, most of the buses were untidy and service was
overwhelmed by delays. This bus industry has grown from a simple, one- man
operation to an established segment of the bus industry. We will almost
certainly see some narrow changes that will consequence how Chinatown carries
run their process. Likewise, as rival within the segment traditional carriers
will have to carry on proposing competitive fares and will also have to find
the alternate ways to compete. What is opulently apparent is that customers are
more than pleased to miss many of the services presented by traditional
carriers so as to save money.
